O to be intelligent to the very ears,
to the toes and tail as the black dog is
with her eyes on the stick,
or with one ey caught by the candle
deeply lit:

to walk without this volume of negligence,
distress of impulse,
and to talk less and less
haltingly;
to sow the seed of flame in each other’s look.
