“A squirrelly sketch done at the Red Rose Theatre in Finsbury Park, while Lol was playing with Steve Noble on drums, John Edwards on bass and Steve Beresford on piano, an ensemble collectively known as Don't Bend The Wardrobe.
The occasion was the launch of the magisterial discography compiled by Barbara Schwarz, The Sound of Squirrel Meals: The Work of Lol Coxhill. I was gratified that she used another of my drawings of Lol at the beginning of her book.”
