I found these in a notebook, from an unknown gig. The cap tells me that the guitarist is Lucky Ranku, and the bass player looks like Roberto Bellatalla, but the drummer is anyone’s guess. As for the hornist, that could be a trombone, so it could be Annie Whitehead…
A night or two in the Klinker
Fruits of the Ivy House, Nunhead, the venue for Hugh Metcalfe’s Klinker South club (see the Klinker website). Can’t remember the date. There are a couple of portraits of Hugh at work – in the one below, as I remember, he was playing drums to accompany his own fine films. There’s Veryan Weston, also accompanying one of Mr Metcalfe’s kinescopes at the pianoforte. And there’s a string trio of Phil Wachsmann (violin), Dominic Lash (double bass) and Bruno Guastella (cello).
