8In Your Line
©2003 Gibbens/Weston

He thinks he’s a miracle man
Cause she wants him whenever she can.
He’s just a flash in the pan
And I’m getting burned.

She thinks she’s a wonderful thing.
She’s upstairs starting to sing.
When she comes she knows what to bring
Without having learned.

But I’m not standing in your way,
I’m just standing in your line.
I’m just hoping that someday,
I’m just hoping that sometime
You’ll know you’re mine…

It’s nice that we’re living together.
We can have little chats about the weather.
But it’s strange that you don’t mention ever
That I’m turning blue.

It’s easy to lie down in bed
But it’s hard hearing you overhead
When once it was me there instead
That accompanied you.

I’m not standing in your way,
I’m just standing in your line.
I’m just hoping that someday,
I’m just hoping that sometime
You’ll know you’re mine…
