Lay
for the Day 15th
March
The first full moon of the Roman year (which began on 1st March) was sacred
to Anna Perenna, the goddess who presided over the passage of time. It
was traditionally celebrated with picnicking, drinking and general outdoor
frolicking on the banks of the river Tiber. The festival seems also to
have been in honour of the river nymphs.
Moment
Ago
There was a
moment
For a moment
Just a moment ago
And it was travelling quickly,
It was moving slow,
And which way it went
I feel IÕll never know
But there was a moment
For a moment
Just a moment ago.
There was a
willow
In the background
And a river up front
And someone was humming the blues
And the weather was warm,
And your hand in the water
Was feeling it slow.
There was a moment
For a moment
Just a moment ago.
There was
a fair
In the distance
And the music played loud.
It was the Miracles singing
Tears of a Clown.
And I was ready
As IÕll ever be.
There was a moment
For a moment
Just a moment ago.
