Lay for the Day 8th
February
In memory of Babs Weston, who died on this day in 2000, and Freddie Weston,
who died three weeks later, after sixty years of marriage. Their grave
is in Michaelstowe churchyard in Cornwall, and has these lines.
They
lived to give example of the works of love,
Who have their rest now in a bed of meek primroses.
Then lift your hearts, who still take breath above,
That happiness may open where the sad earth closes.
